LIN LLC successfully hosted a seminar on June 18, 2025, for a corporate delegation from Utah, U.S., focusing on strategies for entering the Korean market.

Managing Partner Jin-seok Lim, who delivered the opening remarks, explained that Korea offers diverse business opportunities for companies in sectors such as technology, healthcare, consumer goods, and advanced manufacturing., leveraging its world-class infrastructure, stable legal and regulatory framework, top-tier talent pool, and strategic location in Northeast Asia.
 
The first session was presented by foreign attorney David H. Yang, who underscored the strengths of the LIN LLC Foreign Investment Advisory Team. Attorney Yang presented a comprehensive analysis of various market entry strategies (agency and sales distribution agreements, franchise models, joint venture options, and subsidiaries, etc.), weighing the advantages and disadvantages based on the level of local market commitment. Furthermore, he enhanced the audience's understanding by detailing the close diplomatic and economic cooperation between South Korea and the United States.

The second session, led by attorney Tae Jun Bae, focused on the critical regulatory considerations for foreign investors entering the Korean market. He specifically addressed major legal issues that may arise during the distribution process of imported goods, with a focus on Korea's Monopoly Regulation and Fair Trade Act and the Distribution Industry Development Act. Attorney Bae provided concrete preventive measures and effective response strategies to mitigate potential legal risks.

The subsequent Q&A session with the Utah companies demonstrated a high level of interest and active participation from the attendees, affirming the seminar’s value as a meaningful platform for information exchange and practical insight. In his closing remarks, Tong Soo Chung, the Korea Director of WTC Utah, stated, “This seminar provided practical assistance to Utah companies looking to capitalize on their expansion into Korea, particularly following the recent opening of the Incheon–Salt Lake City direct flight route.” He expressed his strong expectation for continued exchange and cooperation between South Korea and Utah.
