Based on various legal cases in Korea, Consul General Zhong Hongnuo urged Chinese companies to be vigilant about compliance and safety. Based on his 20 years of practical experience, Mr. Nah reminded Chinese companies of key legal issues that they may encounter in the course of their operations, including Korean commercial law, fair trade law, major disaster law, personal information protection law, and tax law.
In particular, Mr. Nah emphasized that "Chinese companies operating subsidiaries or branches in Korea should minimize legal risks by ensuring that their internal control systems and other compliance functions are in place in a timely manner and within the framework of Korean law."
Currently, the firm's China team provides comprehensive legal services to both Chinese and Korean companies, led by Mr. Nah, who was the first Korean to receive a J.D. from Peking University School of Law, Mr. Yong Zhe Li, who joined the firm after working at large Chinese law firms such as Zhong Lun Law Firm, and Yin Zhu Wu, who gained practical experience at a large Shanghai-based law firm.
Going forward, Lin’s China team will not only provide efficient legal services for investment and trade between Korean and Chinese companies, but also timely identify legal issues for business development and share legal information with Chinese companies through newsletters and lectures.
