Tae Eon Koo (Judicial Research and Training Institute of the Supreme Court of Korea, 24th) of Lin has been recognized as a Leading Lawyer in the TMT sector in the October issue of Legal Times' Leading Lawyers 2023, Special Issue, proving once again that he is an unrivaled "legal expert in the field of ICT.
In the midst of the increasing specialization of the work of lawyers practicing at law firms, Legal Times reflects this trend by recognizing Korean corporate lawyers as "Leading Lawyers 2023" across 13 practice areas, including TMT, IP, Securities & Finance, Corporate and M&A.

According to Legal Times, Mr. Koo is the first or second-choice lawyer who comes to mind when seeking attorneys with expertise in emerging industries and the proactive ability to resolve regulatory risks that clients may encounter, including Fintech, virtual assets, blockchain, AI, digital healthcare, climate tech, and more.
Legal Times cited Mr. Koo's successful case in which he won the first round of a lawsuit brought by an app company against an SDK developer for damages after Google mistakenly warned users of an app developed using the client's SDK that "this app contains fraudulent features," causing users to delete the app. Mr. Koo proved that the client's SDK development was not at fault. In another case of Mr. Koo, a virtual asset exchange received deposits from users, exchanged them for KRW points, and subsequently used these deposits for company purposes. The prosecutor charged the defendant with embezzlement, but the defendant was acquitted by arguing that their sole obligation was to facilitate cash exchanges, rather than being entrusted with maintaining the received deposits.
