The Digital Asset Finance TF, established within the financial sector, provides comprehensive advisory on the various legal issues arising from the development of the digital asset (virtual asset) market based on blockchain technology. In the digital asset market, various decentralized finance (DeFi) transactions take place — such as digital asset deposit and lending transactions and derivative transactions — as they do in traditional financial markets. In particular, the emergence of stablecoins as a new payment instrument has given rise to diverse legal issues including anti-money laundering (AML) regulations and foreign exchange regulations.
