For the second year in a row, Lin has been recognized in two categories at the 2023 Korea Law Firm Awards organized by Asia Business Law Journal ("ABLJ"), a prominent legal publication in Asia.

Since 2009, ABLJ, a Hong Kong-based legal publication, has been awarding law firms in China, Japan, India, the Philippines, and other countries. The ABLJ evaluated and analyzed various performance data submitted by each law firm for this award, as well as surveyed in-house counsel and lawyers from domestic and foreign companies, and praised Lin for its steady performance in the fields of finance and new industries, noting that the firm has recently been actively investing in fintech advisory capabilities to help fintech companies build platforms for overseas expansion.

The most prominent trend in the regulatory environment of the financial industry since the current government took office is the expanded role of the Financial Supervisory Service (FSS). The “wide-ranging actions” of the FSS head, a former prosecutor, have caused tension across the entire financial sector, including banks, securities, insurance, and card companies. The FSS is strengthening proactive inspections and checks on IT risks to cope with the digital transformation and the big blur phenomena in the financial industry. Additionally, the FSS, along with the Financial Services Commission, is working on establishing regulatory frameworks for the issuance and distribution of securities-type digital assets.
