U.S. attorney Woohyuk Ju of Lin (admitted to Washington, D.C. and Texas bars) gave a seminar at the "A to Z of Incorporating in the U.S. by a U.S. Attorney," organized by the Gyeonggi FTA Trade Promotion Center and hosted by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and Gyeonggi Province. The program lasted 180 minutes and provided essential information for companies seeking to establish a business presence in the U.S., including information on establishing a U.S. corporation (subsidiaries and branches, considerations when establishing a corporation, features of incorporation by state, incorporation procedures, and comparison of corporate tax rates), visa information for dispatching U.S. expatriates, and precautions when drafting international contracts.
The seminar was attended by more than 80 executives from companies in Gyeonggi Province with a lot of interest. Especially in the case of a display manufacturer, Inc., which has recently become popular in North America for its transparent OLED and curved screens, the company signed a legal advisory contract with the International Legal Team of Lin for its full-fledged entry into the U.S. market.
